This horse had a locally invasive cancer of the mandible at the incisors. His mandible was removed at the bars just caudal to the canine teeth. He harvests grass easily with only upper incisors and a lower lip – not even any lower gum!

This was sent in by a client showing hyperplasia on the gum above 201. The cause is unknown and may be congenital or developmental but until a biopsy is done, the cause is unknown. The advice is to watch and observe if a biopsy is not wanted.
